CLEVELAND, OHIO, USA – AUGUST 13, 2025 In the West Boulevard neighborhood, near West 73rd Street and Clark Avenue, a fight broke out between two men that ended with the death of one of them. A shocking video recorded by a passerby shows 38-year-old Deonte Alexander being shot and beaten by another man. After the attack, he was left bloodied in critical condition on the road, while the assailant fled. Alexander died before emergency services arrived.
Shortly afterward, police tracked down the suspect near the scene of the crime. During the arrest he resisted and was armed, so officers shot him, and he was taken in serious condition to MetroHealth hospital.
