MALAYSIA Motorcyclist speeding at over 65 mph (105 kph) failed to react in time to a vehicle that suddenly swerved and blocked his path. He crashed into it and was thrown from his bike. He was incredibly lucky to survive, but in addition to multiple other injuries, the accident tore off his entire arm, leaving it hanging by just a small piece of tissue.
Dashcam footage from an uninvolved vehicle shows that although he wore a helmet, it flew off upon impact. A quality helmet does not behave this way, which highlights the importance of investing in proper motorcycle gear.
The incident also serves as a stark reminder of the importance of following traffic laws and basic safety rules, especially for motorcyclists. Excessive speed can easily cost you your life. Unlike a car, a motorcycle offers no crumple zones to absorb the impact. Invest in protective gear and ride carefully, at safe speeds. Stay safe.
