MYANMAR (BURMA) Two men accused and convicted by a military court of double homicide were executed by members of the military junta. The execution was carried out with a pistol shot to the back of the head.
Since 2022, Myanmar has been under the control of a military junta, and their courts also decide on executions. The judicial processes are often closed and very brief. Myanmar faces criticism from international human rights organizations for the lack of transparency in these courts, which are frequently used to suppress opposition.
