HAMEDAN, IRAN – NOVEMBER 12, 2024 Mohammad Ali Salamat, 43, was publicly executed by hanging from a crane. He had been convicted by Iranian authorities for dozens of rapes he had committed over the past 20 years.

Mohammad did not always force sex, but promised his victims marriage. In some cases, he offered abortion pills, which are illegal in Iran. Rape and adultery are punishable by death there.
