- His dead body
Identification of the victim was not possible at the scene due to the degree of mutilation and the fact that no identifiers such as ID were found with the body. However, the victim’s identity was later confirmed by his family. He was 20-year-old Julio César, known in the area by the nickname “Li.” He had been listed as a missing person since January 25.
Police investigation is still in its very early stages and no further information has been released. However, the method of the murder and the message left behind are very typical of the drug cartels operating in the area.
