FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA, USA – JUNE 2, 2014 In the waters of the Intracoastal Waterway near Fort Lauderdale, a terrifying incident occurred. 22-year-old Jessica Vaughn was unexpectedly attacked by a shark while on an inflatable tube during an afternoon ride. The attack was sudden and brutal – the shark bit her leg, causing serious injuries that affected muscles and tendons.
Jessica’s friends immediately intervened and helped her get to shore, where she received immediate first aid. A two-hour surgery followed, during which doctors stabilized her condition. Despite being a life-threatening injury, Jessica is reportedly recovering and is expected to fully regain mobility in her leg.
The attack was likely caused by a bull shark, known for its presence in both coastal and inland Florida waters.
