UKRAINE Harsh footage comes from the village of Osheba in the Kharkiv region in eastern Ukraine. It shows a severely injured Colombian mercenary, likely recruited by the Russian side. Enemy soldiers are filming him, mocking him, and wiping snow on his face while he dies.
Such behavior by soldiers violates the Geneva Conventions. A wounded enemy who is no longer combat-capable is no longer a legitimate target. According to the Geneva Conventions, there is an obligation to provide first aid and protect him from further violence.
