BHAKKAR, PUNJAB, PAKISTAN – FEBRUARY 24, 2026 Suicide bomber attacked the Dajal inter-provincial checkpoint in the Bhakkar district, which connects Punjab with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The attacker, identified as Afghan national Hayat Ullah, traveled to the site from Dera Ismail Khan and detonated himself while attempting to enter Punjab.
The explosion claimed the lives of three police officers and caused injuries to several other people, including two polio vaccination workers and one driver. A high alert was subsequently declared throughout the district, and local hospitals moved into crisis mode.
