SANTA CRUZ DO CAPIBARIBE, PERNAMBUCO, BRAZIL – MAY 8, 2026 33-year-old man, Itamar Alves da Silva, was shot and killed in the Bela Vista district. Reports say he was attacked by armed suspects shortly after leaving his parents’ home.

He was riding his motorcycle when a white Fiat Pulse blocked his way. Two men got out and opened fire several times. The victim tried to flee on foot but died from his injuries at the scene.
Emergency responders from SAMU arrived and could only confirm his death. Police cordoned off the area for investigation, and the body was taken for autopsy. The motive and the attackers’ identities remain unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.
