HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT, USA – FEBRUARY 27, 2026 55-year-old Steven Jones was shot on Blue Hills Avenue. His sister called the 911 emergency line and asked for an ambulance because her brother had not taken his psychiatric medication and had picked up a knife. However, police arrived at the scene. The released video shows how the officers tried to use a taser, but it failed. When Jones, with a knife in his hand, advanced toward officer Joseph Magnano, the officer fired nine shots at him.
