JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA – APRIL 26, 2026 Another deadly attack took place in downtown Johannesburg, South Africa. An Ethiopian citizen was shot inside a shop in a busy area at the corner of Jeppe and Von Wielligh streets.
According to initial information, the victim was shot at close range and died at the scene before emergency services arrived. Police are investigating the case as a possible targeted killing.
What is especially concerning is that this is already the second similar incident in a short period of time in this part of the city, in which an Ethiopian man was shot. The perpetrator has not yet been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing.
