BROOKLYN, NEW YORK CITY, USA – JANUARY 11, 2024 Naomi Broomes, 33, met her husband’s ex-girlfriend, Shakira Serrano, 24, in the parking lot of the Pink Houses in East New York on Loring Avenue near Crescent Street. A heated argument broke out between the women. When Serrano fell to the ground, Broomes jumped into her car and ran her over.
Serrano suffered non-life threatening injuries. Many of her ribs were broken and her spinal cord severed. Broomes fled the scene of the murder, which officers later credited as an aggravating factor.
