SAN JOSÉ DEL TAMBO, BOLÍVAR, ECUADOR – MAY 17, 2025 Brutal attack occurred in a nightclub. According to investigations, a group of armed men reportedly stormed the venue and began shooting at people present. The attack lasted only a short time but left several dead and others injured. The total number of victims is, according to various reports, at least around five people.
The exact motive of the attack has not been officially confirmed, but the Ecuadorian police and media are working with the theory that it was an act linked to organized crime. In recent years, the security situation in Ecuador has significantly worsened, especially in coastal and inland areas where various criminal groups connected to international drug cartels operate.
