PERU 23-year-old Erika Katherine Álvarez, who worked as a police officer, decided to take her own life. She was found hanged in her home from a ceiling beam.

Before her death, she left a farewell letter in which she described her reasons. She was experiencing extreme psychological pressure connected to financial problems and debt. She considered them so burdensome and serious that she saw no other way out of her situation.
Her body was found by her mother a few hours after death. At that time, unfortunately, nothing could be done to help her. The forensic autopsy together with the police investigation did not prove any foul play, and the case was closed as a suicide.
