Thief killed by electricity while attempting to steal live wire

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL With the prospect of making quick money from selling copper, a man attempted to steal a live overhead railway contact wire. However, he was struck by an electric current, which in Brazil can reach voltages of up to 25,000 V. Several bystanders recorded the moment after his death, showing him hanging from the metal structure while electricity was still passing through his body.
