EL CARMEN, ARGENTINA – JULY 23, 2026 Group of friends playing cards was attacked by unknown armed assailants. The incident occurred at the intersection of Portoviejo and Luis Félix López streets. The attack claimed three lives. The victims were identified as Eduardo Alcivar, Pedro Cornejo (a taxi driver), and Fabian Basurto.
In addition to the three fatalities, the attack also left two people injured. Sixty-six-year-old Justo Lor suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, with the bullet passing through his calf. According to all available information, his condition is stable. No information about the other injured person has been released.
The incident is currently the subject of an intensive police investigation. So far, authorities have not issued any official statement.
