ECATEPEC DE MORELOS, MEXICO – JANUARY 23, 2025 Macabre discovery shocked residents of the Mexican city of Ecatepec de Morelos, where a human skull was found on an abandoned lot in the Jardines de Morelos neighborhood. Local residents alerted authorities after noticing stray dogs playing with the skull and gnawing on it. Police officers immediately arrived at the scene, secured the area, and called in forensic investigators to examine the site.
Investigators then searched the surrounding property and, according to some media reports, also discovered additional human skeletal remains. All recovered remains were transported for forensic examination to determine the victim’s identity and the circumstances of their death. At the time the available information was published, it was unclear whether the remains belonged to a man or a woman, and police continued to investigate the case.
