MANAUS, AMAZONAS, BRAZIL – APRIL 28, 2024 31-year-old Lucas Figueiredo Pereira, known by the nickname “Olhão,” was shot during an armed attack in the northern part of Manaus. The incident took place in the afternoon on Rua Penetração 2 street in the Novo Aleixo neighborhood near the Sete Bridge. According to available information, two armed attackers broke into a house under construction and fired several shots at Lucas. He was hit a total of twelve times in the head, chest, and abdomen area.
The victim had reportedly worked at the location as a construction worker since he was young. The attack happened shortly after lunch, at approximately 2 p.m., when Lucas was alone at the site. The motive for the murder has not been officially confirmed. However, some local media reported that Lucas may have had ties to a rival criminal group, which could have been connected to his killing.
