RÓMULO GALLEGOS, COJEDES, VENEZUELA – SEPTEMBER 13, 2026 Jesús Sánchez was attacked with a machete together with his companion, Yuraima Pinto, in the El Espinal sector. According to police reports, they were attacked by 33-year-old José Gregorio Aparicio González, who was reportedly Yuraima Pinto’s former partner. He inflicted serious injuries on both of them and then fled the scene.

Sánchez was taken to Dr. Egor Nucete Hospital in San Carlos in critical condition, where he underwent surgery. Yuraima Pinto was also seriously injured. Police later found the attacker dead on a property in the La Fortuna area; according to investigators, he died by hanging.
