PAULO RAMOS, MARANHÃO, BRAZIL – SEPTEMBER 15, 2026 Francisco Moura da Silva, 52, was shot and killed in the city of Paulo Ramos in the Brazilian state of Maranhão. Several hours earlier, he had allegedly assaulted and threatened a teenager in neighboring Lago da Pedra after the young man allegedly insulted his son.
Francisco was later attacked by gunmen who, according to a witness, arrived on a black motorcycle. The man suffered five gunshot wounds to the chest area and died at the scene. Police are investigating the possibility that the shooting was retaliation for the earlier conflict. The perpetrators have not yet been arrested, and the case is being investigated by the civil police.
