BAKHTIYARPUR, BIHAR, INDIA – MAY 4, 2026 Two women died after being struck by a passing Farakka Express train at Bakhtiyarpur railway station. According to police, the women were attempting to cross the tracks when the train was approaching.
The incident was captured by a security camera. The footage shows the women trying to reach the platform while bystanders warn them and attempt to help. However, the train struck them before they could reach safety.
Train operations at the station were suspended for approximately 30 minutes after the accident. The bodies were subsequently removed, and police launched an investigation. The identities of both women had not been confirmed at the time the report was published.
