Man shot 14 times in Rio de Janeiro

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – SEPTEMBER 29, 2026 Man in his 30s was shot and killed at a bar on Rua Francisco de Paula near the Asa Branca community in Curicica, western Rio de Janeiro. Local media reported that two armed men on a motorcycle attacked him, firing 14 shots. He was struck in the head and died at the scene, while panicked bystanders fled through the streets seeking cover.

The motive and the identities of the attackers remain unknown. A POV video allegedly recorded by one of the gunmen also emerged, showing the attacker shooting the victim in the head after his death.
