NECOCLÍ, ANTIOQUIA, COLOMBIA – OCTOBER 7, 2026 Four people were killed and seven others injured in a head-on collision between a minibus and a van on the road between Necoclí and San Juan de Urabá. The Coointur minibus was almost completely destroyed by the impact.
Among the victims were 44-year-old driver Jorge Luis Padilla Pineda, passenger Jhon Fredy Arcila, and two women, Sandra Milena Yara Castro (19)and Máxima del Socorro Valdés Arteaga. The seven injured people were taken by emergency responders to San Sebastián de Urabá Hospital.
According to a preliminary statement by a municipal official, the minibus driver may have swerved into the oncoming lane while avoiding a deep pothole in the road. However, this account had not been definitively confirmed when the reports were published. Police are investigating the traffic accident to clarify the exact circumstances and determine any potential liability.
