MANAUS, AMAZONAS, BRAZIL – JANUARY 28, 2025 Dismembered body of an as-yet-unidentified man was found wrapped in bedsheets near a bus stop on Rua Boninas in the Novo Aleixo neighborhood. Local residents commuting to work made the gruesome discovery in the morning. The victim’s head, arms, torso, and legs had been separated.
A note left by the perpetrators beside the body read: “IN RESPONSE TO OUR BROTHER SABAZINHO. SIGNED: PCC AM.” According to local reports, Sabazinho was a local leader of the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) criminal organization who was killed in an ambush earlier that same month.
Investigators suspect the murder may have been an act of retaliation linked to the rivalry between the PCC and Comando Vermelho (CV) groups. However, the victim’s identity and the exact circumstances of the murder have not yet been confirmed.
