NĂM CĂN, CÀ MAU, VIETNAM – OCTOBER 5, 2026 40-year-old Trần Chí Công attacked his 39-year-old partner, N.T.L.H., and her two daughters, aged 6 and 11, with a knife. The attack occurred after the woman was returning home from school with the children. The six-year-old girl suffered serious injuries and later died in the hospital. Her mother sustained a serious neck injury, and the 11-year-old daughter suffered multiple stab and cut wounds.
According to investigators, jealousy was the motive for the attack. Trần Chí Công suspected his partner of infidelity, and their relationship had deteriorated in recent weeks. After the attack, he was detained by local residents working with the police. On October 7, he was charged with murder and taken into custody. As of October 20, the mother remained hospitalized, while her older daughter had already been discharged and returned home.
