PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA – JUNE 8, 2018 Khat Somaly, 20, worked as a hairdresser and had been living apart from her husband in a rented room for the past year. She could not come to terms with the divorce and struggled with depression. Before ending her life, she called her ex-husband, told him that this was the last time he would hear her voice and that she loved him. Then she hung herself on the windowsill.
