Groom is attacked by unknown men during wedding ceremony

PALEMBANG, SOUTH SUMATRA, INDONESIA – MAY 11, 2025 31-year-old Ahmad Anda was attacked by five unknown assailants on the day of his wedding. When he got out of the car that brought him to his wedding ceremony, five unknown men ran at him, slashed him with machetes, and threatened him with a firearm.

Ahmad fortunately survived the attack because he ran into a crowd of people and the attackers fled. In the hospital, he told the police that he believes he recognized one of them (the one with the firearm). He allegedly holds a long-standing grudge against Ahmad, believing that he reported him as a thief. Ahmad thinks he deliberately waited for a moment when he would be most vulnerable – his wedding day.
