DHAKA, BANGLADESH – MAY 26, 2025 Md. Hasan Mia, a 30-year-old construction worker, suffered a severe injury while working on an elevated highway project in Dhaka, Bangladesh. A metal bolt attached to a rod fell from above, puncturing his helmet and entering his brain.
He was rushed to East West Medical College Hospital, where neurosurgeon Dr. Md. Humayun Rashid and his team performed an emergency brain operation. In under an hour, they managed to remove the three-inch metal rod. Remarkably, following the three-hour procedure, Hasan regained consciousness and was able to speak and move without complications.
His family expressed deep gratitude to the hospital staff for their swift response and the life-saving treatment that gave him a second chance.
