CARABAYLLO, PERU – APRIL 12, 2025 35-year-old Deysi del Rosario Arellano Castillo was murdered by a hired killer right in the middle of the street. When she was walking on the sidewalk of Camino Real Avenue, a masked man dressed in gray pants ran up to her, pulled out a gun, and killed her with a close-range shot to the head. The incident was recorded by a security camera.

Deysi worked as a vegetable seller and left behind two children aged 8 and 11, who became orphans because of her death. It turned out that her husband, a bus driver, was murdered about a year ago in a very similar way.
The motive for her murder is now under police investigation. One theory is that it could be related to extortion. Another possibility is that the family was somehow connected to criminal gangs.
