TELA, HONDURAS – JUNE 16, 2025 At an old runway in the port area of the city, a tragic accident occurred that claimed the life of 21-year-old Joshua Jasiel Deras Bueso from the El Retiro neighborhood. According to witnesses, he was riding his motorcycle at high speed when a cow suddenly stepped into his path. He had no time to react and collided with the animal. Both Joshua and the cow died at the scene.

The old runway of the former airport is known in the city mainly as a gathering place for young people who drive cars and motorcycles there. Often, they drive very fast and dangerously. They do things there that they couldn’t get away with on public roads, including organizing races.
The police are considering whether to press charges against the owner of the animal, if they can even find out who the cow belonged to. It’s also questionable why the cow was there at all and whether there was negligence in securing the animal.
