TOLUVIEJO, SUCRE, COLOMBIA – JULY 23, 2025 Residents of the rural district of El Cañito are devastated by the murder of their neighbor, Katy Bello Silgado. Several armed men broke into her home and killed her.

According to all available information, the crime took place in the early morning hours while Katy was still asleep. An unknown number of attackers stormed into her house and shot her multiple times while she was sleeping. They then fled the scene.
Katy was hit at least six times but did not die immediately. Her relatives rushed her in critical condition to the ESE medical facility in Toluviejo. Unfortunately, doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival.
Identity of the attackers and their motive are still unknown and are being investigated by the police.
