LILOY, ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE, PHILIPPINES – SEPTEMBER 10, 2026 26-year-old Eugenio Butalid Tubio Jr., known as “Moymoy,” was shot in broad daylight at a gas station. According to police, two men arrived at the scene on a red-and-white motorcycle and had the motorcycle refueled. After paying, one of them pulled out a gun and shot Tubio once in the right side of the neck.
The perpetrators then fled the scene. The attack was captured by a security camera, and police are now analyzing the footage. A shell casing, believed to be .45 caliber, and a 50 Philippine peso banknote were found at the scene. Police are also trying to track down the registered owner of the motorcycle used in the attack based on its license plate.
The motive for the murder and the identities of the perpetrators have not yet been released. The case remains under investigation.
