GUAYAQUIL, ECUADOR Young couple had just finished buying groceries at the local butcher shop, got in the car and were about to drive home. Suddenly, a gunman on a motorbike appeared on the scene and started shooting at them.

The man was killed instantly with several shots in the driver’s seat of the car. The woman tried to run back to the butcher shop and screamed for help. She made it to the door, but the biker drove onto the sidewalk and killed her with a shot to the head.

Fortunately, no one else was injured despite the fact that there were quite a few people at the scene. According to unconfirmed reports, both were in their 20s and from Venezuela.

A few hours after the incident, police detained four young men and arrested them in connection with the double murder. The motive has not been made public.
