Man was attacked by an aggressive Pit bull under unknown circumstances. The dog caused severe injuries to his face. Some sources state that it completely scalped him. The incident was recorded on video by a random witness.
In the event of an attack by a Pit bull, or any other dog, do not run. This can trigger the animal’s predatory instinct and increase the aggression of the attack. Keep the dog in your field of vision, but do not look directly into its eyes. Stand sideways to the dog to make yourself appear smaller and less threatening. If the dog charges to attack, use anything as a shield. A jacket or backpack can work very well. If you get bitten, try to protect your face and major arteries. Fight back and try to strike the dog in sensitive areas such as the eyes and snout.
