LUDHIANA, PUNJAB, INDIA – APRIL 2, 2026 Attempted robbery occurred at a money transfer service shop. Two armed men arrived on a motorcycle and tried to rob the store. One of them entered the shop and, under threat of a weapon, demanded money, while the other kept watch outside.
When the shop owner resisted, the attacker shot and injured him in the hand. The shopkeeper then handed over the money, but during the escape he tried to chase the attackers and even managed to hit them with a stick, forcing them to drop part of the stolen cash.
The situation escalated when the attackers tried to flee and assaulted another man who attempted to stop them. He was seriously injured with a bladed weapon. The perpetrators then escaped the scene, firing several shots into the air to create panic.
The entire incident was captured on security cameras. Police are investigating the case, collecting evidence at the scene, and searching for the suspects, who investigators believe were likely prepared in advance for the crime.
