Azerbaijani man murders five members of his family

BAKU, AZERBAIJAN – FEBRUARY 13, 2024 Akhmedov Akhmed Mehman, 25, murdered 5 members of his family with an axe. The tragedy occurred at 29 General Shikhly Street.

Before murdering both his parents, and his younger brother, he visited his sister, Elmira Ahmadova, in Surakhani district. She was at home with her 5-year-old daughter Ulviya. He also killed them both.

Neighbours said that Akhmed was mentally ill and had been living in Russia for a long time, where he was being treated in a psychiatric hospital. When he was 15 years old, he stabbed his peer with a knife. They further stated that his family took very good care of him. His father even bought him a car so that he could earn a living as a taxi driver.
