Base jumping fail: His parachute didn’t open

NAZARÉ, PORTUGAL – NOVEMBER 22, 2018 Dominik Loyen, aged 50, tragically died during a base jump in Nazaré, Portugal, in November 2018. His parachute failed to deploy during a jump from a 100-meter-high cliff. The event was captured on his head camera and gained attention on social media. Loyen was a seasoned base jumper and instructor who had previously contemplated retiring from the sport due to its risks​.
