PARAGOMINAS, PARÁ, BRAZIL – MAY 23, 2024 Dayza da Silva Castro, 17, was riding her motorcycle with her friend on BR-010. At kilometer 165 near Paragominas, they collided with a piece of wood sticking out of the back of a pickup truck that was overtaking another vehicle in the opposite direction.
Dayza was beheaded by the wood. Her severed head was left lying on the road in her helmet. Her headless and broken body ended up in a ditch a few metres away. Witnesses to the accident were shocked by her mangled body.
The other girl, who was riding the same motorcycle as the passenger, was very lucky and survived. She was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
