SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL – JULY 28, 2026 Murder of forty-nine-year-old businessman Helenildo José de Andrade took place after he was shot shortly after leaving his home. The incident occurred in the Jardim São José neighborhood in the São Mateus area in the eastern part of the city.
According to available information, the man was heading toward his vehicle when an attacker wearing a helmet approached him. Without warning, the attacker began shooting at him. Several shots hit Helenildo, including a fatal injury to the head area. Security camera footage captured the man falling to the ground after the attack, while the perpetrator fired several more shots before fleeing the scene.
Firefighters who were called to the scene attempted to save the injured businessman and transported him to São Mateus Hospital. However, his condition was critical, and doctors were unable to save his life.
Helenildo José de Andrade ran an auto repair shop in the Tatuapé area, where he worked together with his son. His wife stated that, to her knowledge, he had no enemies and had not received any threats that could explain the attack.
