MARAGOGI, ALAGOAS, BRAZIL – AUGUST 7, 2026 An unidentified man was murdered. According to local media, he was found in the São Bento area, which has long been marked by clashes between rival criminal groups.
The man was reportedly detained and interrogated by members of an armed group before his death. He was then shot repeatedly in the head. The circumstances of the case led to suspicions that it was a so-called execution related to the conflict between local factions. Comando Vermelho (CV), one of Brazil’s most prominent criminal organizations, is mentioned as a possible perpetrator. The group is involved, among other things, in drug trafficking and is fighting for territorial control with rival groups.
According to information that emerged in connection with the case, the man may have been suspected of cooperating with one of the organizations competing with CV. These include Terceiro Comando Puro (TCP), Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC), or Guardiões do Estado (GDE). However, this information has not been officially confirmed.
Police secured the crime scene and began investigating the case. The body was subsequently taken to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Maceió. At the time the available reports were published, the victim’s identity was unknown, and no one had been arrested in connection with the murder.
