ITABUNA, BAHIA, BRAZIL – SEPTEMBER 1, 2013 Dead body of a young woman was found in a wooded area near Itabuna. She has been identified as 16-year-old Renata Keli Pedreira dos Santos. Some witnesses said she was last seen alive running away from a group of men.

An 18-year-old man, identified as her boyfriend, was lying nearby, badly injured. He had been shot in the forehead and chest, but somehow miraculously was still alive at the time of his discovery. He was rushed to hospital where he sadly died a few days later.
The motive for their murder, or rather cold-blooded execution, is unknown. But some sources say they were involved in the drug trade.
