JOMTIEN BEACH, PATTAYA, THAILAND – FEBRUARY 26, 2007 Two bodies of dead white women were found on Jomtien beach in the Thai resort town of Pattaya at morning. They were both lying on a sun lounger and had gunshot marks from a 9 mm pistol. A police expert says they were hit at close range.
The women were probably waiting for sunrise. They had Thai whiskey and a cell phone on the table. That rules out the possibility of a robbery.
The victims were identified as 30-year-old Tatiana Tsimfar and 25-year-old Liubov Svirkova. Both were from Russia. They were in Thailand for a holiday and had only two days before their flight home.
The Thai government put up a reward of 100,000 THB (equivalent to US$3,000). Yet the killers were never caught.
