BHIWANDI, MAHARASHTRA, INDIA – APRIL 30, 2026 38-year-old Kamruzama Mohammad Shabbir Shaikh was brutally attacked by a group of men who, according to police, stopped him while he was riding his motorcycle home. The attack was captured on video, which subsequently began circulating on social media.
The attack took place at around 1:30 a.m. near the Nizami Hotel. The attackers were reportedly armed with iron rods and inflicted multiple fractures to Shaikh’s arms and legs, as well as serious injuries to his head, back, and abdomen. During the attack, they also allegedly took his mobile phone and personal belongings.
Five suspects were detained in connection with the attack. Information about their motive or the findings of the police investigation was never made public. Shaikh appears to be a successful local businessman, which may suggest that the attack was related to robbery or a settling of scores.
