PAULISTA, PERNAMBUCO, BRAZIL – OCTOBER 12, 2026 Tragic accident occurred on PE-22 highway in the Nossa Senhora da Conceição neighborhood. After a side collision between two motorcycles, a man and a woman were thrown onto the road, where they were subsequently run over by a car traveling in the opposite direction.

The victims were Nilton Gomes Dias (27) and his girlfriend, Ingrid Cristina Carvalho Melo (21), who was celebrating her birthday on the day of the accident. Both died at the scene.
According to information from the highway police, the driver of the passenger car left the scene before officers arrived. Two other people riding the second motorcycle were injured and taken to a hospital.
The Civil Police launched an investigation to clarify the exact circumstances of the accident. Preliminary information from the scene examination also indicated that Nilton was wearing an electronic monitoring ankle bracelet.
