SANTIAGO DE LOS CABALLEROS, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC – OCTOBER 13, 2026 19-year-old Rolfi Stil Martínez Salcedo and 16-year-old Scarlet Rivas Hernández died in a tragic traffic accident. The couple were riding a motorcycle when they collided with a parked vehicle at the intersection of Avenida 27 de Febrero and Avenida Bartolomé Colón. Both subsequently fell onto the road.

A garbage truck traveling behind them was unable to stop in time and ran over both young people. Neither survived the accident. Emergency services arrived at the scene but were unable to help them.
Police began investigating the circumstances of the tragedy. According to local media, the garbage truck driver and his assistant were detained in connection with the case. At the time the reports were published, the exact cause of the accident and the degree of responsibility of each person involved had not been definitively established.
