LIMA, PERU – AUGUST 17, 2025 In a juice bar at the Túpac market in the Campoy area, within the San Juan de Lurigancho district, an armed attack targeted one of the customers. The victim was enjoying juice at a table with another man when a hooded hitman burst in, shot him four times, and killed him instantly before fleeing the scene.
The victim was identified as 31-year-old Francesco Tapia Minaya. He had a long criminal record including murder, armed robbery, and illegal possession of weapons. It is highly likely that his assassination was directly related to his criminal activities, though the investigation is still ongoing.
The man who had been sitting with him at the table is believed to be a partner in his illegal business. After the shooting, he fled the scene without trying to help or waiting to give a statement to police.
