NOVA IGUAÇU, RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – FEBRUARY 8, 2026 Armed attack in a bar claimed several victims. The attackers opened fire on a group of people inside the establishment, killing five men at the scene.
Two women who were nearby were also hit during the shooting. One of them later died from her injuries in the hospital, while the other suffered injuries and received medical treatment.
Police are investigating the case and examining possible motives behind the attack. One of the lines of investigation is the possibility that the shooting was related to conflicts between local criminal groups.
