META DEPARTMENT, COLOMBIA – OCTOBER 11, 2026 One person died and at least 12 others were injured, including five children, in a serious accident involving two Toyota off-road vehicles and an intercity bus on the road between Villavicencio and Puerto López in Colombia’s Meta Department.
The accident occurred near Hacienda Bello Horizonte, approximately 6 miles (10 kilometers) from the town of Pompeya. Ten injured people, including five adults and five children, were taken to Hospital Departamental de Villavicencio. The others were taken to other medical facilities in the city.
According to the preliminary account, one of the off-road vehicles may have been attempting to overtake another vehicle when it collided head-on with the bus. However, the exact circumstances of the accident have not yet been officially confirmed, and investigators are looking into the case.
