ECATEPEC, MEXICO – FEBRUARY 19, 2024 Serious accident involving a military vehicle occurred on the México-Pachuca highway in the Ecatepec area. According to available reports, a Humvee with registration number 8002145 overturned after the driver lost control and crashed into a concrete barrier.
Tragically, soldier Carlos Nicolás “N” lost his life in the accident, while five other soldiers sustained injuries of varying severity. Emergency responders quickly transported the injured to hospitals, utilizing both ground and air rescue services.
The accident took place on a busy highway, causing major traffic disruptions and requiring an extensive emergency response. Authorities temporarily closed the area to carry out rescue operations and investigate the circumstances of the crash.
The Mexican military has issued an official statement confirming that an investigation is underway and that affected soldiers’ families will receive full support. It remains unclear whether the accident was caused by mechanical failure or human error.
