TULUÁ, VALLE DEL CAUCA, COLOMBIA – APRIL 24, 2025 In a wooded part of the city, a severed human head was found by a random passerby. According to Colombian media, a note reading “Por rata ladrón” was found with the remains, which in Spanish means “for thief rat” or more loosely “for stealing, you rat.” This message suggests that it may have been intimidation or settling of scores between criminal groups.
The victim’s body was not complete at the scene, and police launched an investigation to determine the identity of the deceased and the exact circumstances of the act. Preliminary information from the Valle del Cauca region suggests that the victim may have been a young man from the area who had been missing for several days, but this has not been officially confirmed.
Tuluá is one of the areas in Colombia where a high level of violence linked to organized crime has long been present, and similar “warning” messages on victims are not entirely unusual in the region.
